Color Ideas |
|
Choosing
the right color can be one of the most difficult and
frustrating processes of your decorating journey. If you let
it. We all know how hard it is to tell from those little color swatches
you get from the paint store. The best advice we can give is
to narrow your color selections down and buy quarts. Then
paint a 2'x2' section of the wall or a piece of sturdy white
paper so you can look at a large enough section in your
room. If you paint
on the wall, do so as to get close to door trim and
baseboards so you can see what it looks like with your trim.
And don’t worry, you wont mess anything up by doing so, your
painter can cover those areas easily.
Deep colors are
becoming quite popular and take a bit of a risky attitude.
People these days are not worrying about closing in rooms
and are after that "dramatic effect". Nonetheless they
definitely take getting used to as does any type of change
in your life. All it takes is for your friends and family to
come over and rant and rave and you'll be sold. Off whites
can drive you crazy as well. They are all so close! My
advice is: pick one and stick with it. No one is going to
know that it could have been any one of the other colors
that are so close. When your
whole room is painted you need to step back, take it in as a
whole, and it will look great! If you're really stuck, then the best thing to do is
to hire an interior decorator. We can recommend
several that we work closely with. |

Choosing the Right Products |
|
Basically
the quality level of the major brands is very close. They
all know each others formula's and are constantly studying
each others products so they can keep up with each other.
All major brands make a low level, medium level and high end
product. It all depends on your budget and your expectation
level. It is always best to discuss product selection with
your contractor. At Patch, Paint and Cover we prefer Sherwin
Williams. They make a great product in wide varieties and
they have stores on every corner of every city we do work
in. |
